| 内容記述 | This report presents a brief overview of the proceedings of the Institute for Language and Culture’s 47th Symposium held on July 6, 2019. The aim of this symposium was to lead the audience into a discussion on the use of smartphones and artificial intelligence (AI) in foreign language classrooms and beyond. The main presenter focused on how smartphones could be incorporated into projects and activities in Chinese language courses at the university level. The second presenter shared her research on how autonomous language learning could be fostered by having students search for and recommend smartphone applications (apps) and activities to other students who may be discovering ways to complement their foreign language classroom learning with more autonomous learning practices. Finally, the last presenter demonstrated how to introduce smartphone and AI activities while elaborating on the challenges that may be involved in using such technology in foreign language courses. | |||||
