| 内容記述 | This paper aims to show how images are essential to psychotherapy, by looking at the stories of the "Toono Monogatari". The "Toono Monogatari" is a book of 119 short folktales written by Yanagida Kunio, who was a folklorist. The characters in this book were not heroes or heroines, and were only described as "a man" or "a woman". They are just ordinary people who lack power or authority. However, the interesting point about these tales is that they are a rich source of supernatural images of things which exist in the border zone between people and nature. Examples of these things are gods, mountain men or women, and animals with supernatural powers. An awareness of the existence of this border zone can help to create a bond between ourselves, other people, nature and the supernatural. These days, the young people who come to the student counseling room tend to feel separated from nature, their inner world and even their fellow humans. Therefore, such people are often troubled in mind or spirit. Accordingly, in psychotherapy it is essential that therapists are aware of these boundary images, so that they can create a bond between these young people and the world around them. |
