Recently the quality of student has changed. Though they have a high level intelligence, they essentially are more immature than previous generations. They have little experience of everyday life. They need a lot of experience to understand human relationships, so usage of the individual interview method only in student counseling becomes insufficient. At the student counseling room in Konan University, various methods are utilized. As one of method, the tea ceremony can be useful for psychotherapy. Both psychotherapy and the tea ceremony have a spiritual side and can provide a means to develop the mind, to be creative, and within their roles as experiences outside the daily routine can help a fertile imagination. Traditional Japanese culture has always contained such healing elements.
