In junior high and high school, students were taught about substance abuse prevention in relation to life. This approach to moral education is characterized by in its teachings on life, which focus on protecting oneself from danger. The 2022 edition of the Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Moral and Legal Education, published after bullying became a social issue, addressed the matter of life in a broader context. These standards demonstrated a new sense of reverence for life and discussed life in connection with health and safety.
