          <datacite:description xml:lang="ja" descriptionType="Abstract">論文や口頭発表で成果を発表する段階で語られる事柄の順序が実際の探究の過程での順序と誤解されていることが，高等学校における理科の探究活動を円滑に進める上で大きな障害になっていることを指摘した．そこで，研究の過程には後から整理された表の順序と実際に研究室で進んだ裏の順序があることを明らかにし，研究の初心者である高校生には裏の研究過程を知らせることの大切さを明らかにした．そして，実際の探究活動を成功に繋げるまでの流れを，科学者の研究過程をモデルに提案した．研究の開始から仮説の設定までは一般化したフローチャートで，分野や研究テーマや研究者個人によって大きな違いが存在する仮説の検証以後の過程は，フローチャートにすることは不可能なので，‘未踏の地への探検’というストーリーを例にして示した．</datacite:description>
          <datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">The misunderstanding that the sequence of events presented in academic papers and oral presentations reflects the actual order of the inquiry process poses a significant obstacle to facilitating scientific inquiry activities in high school education. To address this issue, we clarified that research follows two distinct sequences: the formal order, which is structured retrospectively for presentation, and the actual order in which the research unfolds in the laboratory. We highlighted the importance of exposing high school students, who are novice researchers, to the actual research process. Furthermore, we proposed a model of the research process based on scientists' workflows to guide students in successfully conducting inquiry activities. While the initial stages, from the inception of research to hypothesis formulation, can be represented using a generalized flowchart, the subsequent process of hypothesis testing varies significantly depending on the research field, theme, and individual researcher, making it impossible to standardize in a flowchart. Instead, we illustrated this phase using the metaphor of an "expedition into uncharted territory" to convey the exploratory nature of scientific inquiry.</datacite:description>
