内容記述 The JANZOS (Japan, Australia, and New Zealand Observation of Supernova 1987A) experiment was started to search for ultra-high energy gamma-rays with energies around 100 TeV from supernova 1987A, by use of an array of extensive air shower detectors. This array enabled us to search for gamma rays form other potential candidate sources in the southern hemisphere.The data from 13 October 1987 to 27 April 1991 was searched for continual and sporadic emissions from nine candidates of gamma-ray-sources. The candidates are the Galactic X-ray binary system Vela X-1, Scorpius X-1, LMC X-4, SMC X-1, Centaurus X-3 and 4U1145-619, and isolated Vela pulsar, young supernova 1987A, and an active galaxy Centarus A. No conclusive evidence for continual emission was found from any of these objects, and upper limits on the continual flux of ultra-high energy gamma rays were determined for these objects.We were also searched for episodic emission, and excess events which arrived from the direction of Centaurus A were found in the period 14 April - 3 June 1990. The duration of the excess, 48 days and equivalent luminosity, ~ 10 43 erg s-1, are both similar to those measured previously for X-ray out-bursts of this object. Furthermore, the events appear to exhibit the expected absorption feature at 200 TeV due to interactions with the 2.7 K cosmic background radiation, The equivalent time averaged flux during this period was (5.5±1.5)×10-12 photons cm-2 s-1 at energies ?110TeV, about 20 times as large as the upper limit flux of steady emission, assuming a differential spectral index of -2.0 for gamma-ray spectrum at source.
